Linda Kay Gann

Linda Kay (Allred) Gann, age 78, of Sunnyvale, Texas, formerly of Granbury and Irving, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 7, surrounded by loving family members after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Paris, Texas on July 21, 1941, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Allred and Opal (Clemons) Allred and sister of Betty Thompson and Ronney Allred. She was the loving mother of Amy (Dennis) Ring of Plymouth, Massachusetts and April Gann of Sunnyvale, Texas and loving stepmother to Melinda (Ron) Reeder of Frisco, Texas, Kimberly (Chip) Garber of Bainbridge Island, Washington and the late David (Melanie) Gann. She is also the grandmother to Rachel Ring, Esq., of Boston, Massachusetts and Dennis P. Ring Jr., of Freetown, Massachusetts and the great-grandmother to Kelsi Ring and Abel Merrill of Freetown, Massachusetts. Linda is also survived by her loving nieces and nephew, Kim Vaughn, Tracie Meyer , Denise Webb, Shannon Allred, Jon Allred, and former husband Robert Gann of Sunnyvale, Texas and her beloved dog, Willie.

She was a graduate of Irving High School class of 1959 and worked as an administrative assistant and customer relations associate in the Dallas area for many years. She was an amazing daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Linda, known as "Missy" to her grandchildren, had a great sense of humor and sassy wit. She loved libraries, enjoyed reading mystery novels, watching crime shows, and was always up for a fashion show. Linda bravely fought (and beat) various cancers for many years, while always maintaining her impeccable style, beautiful hair and makeup and hilarious sense of humor. She will be sorely missed by her loving family.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2019 at noon in the Abbey Chapel. Donations in Linda's memory may be made to Anchor of Hope Hospice of Plano, Texas.
