Glenda Lee Stephenson Gast
Glenda Lee Stephenson Gast, 75, of Wills Point, Texas, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. Glenda was born on May 3, 1944, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to George and Mariflo Stephenson. She attended University of Texas at Arlington, and graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing. Glenda was a registered nurse for over 50 years and retired after fifteen-plus years as a hospice nurse, her favorite kind of nursing. She was a long-time resident of Granbury, Texas.

Glenda married Robert (Bob) Edward Gast on May 14, 1966, and was happily married for almost twenty-four years until his death on May 6, 1990. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law, James Gast and Robert Benasuly. Glenda's Christian faith was an integral part of who she was; she was a charter member of Richland Hills Christian Church, and a member of churches in every community in which she lived over the course of her life. Her faith and her family defined who she was, and she loved to share stories related to both.

Glenda and Bob had four children, and she is survived by sons John Gast and wife, Stephanie, of Mineral Wells, Texas; Stephen Gast of Granbury, Texas; and Paul Gast and wife, Sherry, of Granbury, Texas; daughter Ann Marie Oglesby and husband, Jeremy, of Wills Point, Texas. Known lovingly as Gammie to them, she is also survived by 21 grandchildren: Emma and Abby Gast, Nickolas and Isaac Bourdelais, all of Mineral Wells; Corbin, Madison, and Gracie Gast of Granbury, Texas, and Ginger Gast of Rosenberg, Texas; Josiah, Rebekah, Elizabeth, Esther, Caleb, Nicolas, Jonathan, Bethany, and Sarah Oglesby of Wills Point, Texas; and Ben, Nate, Kate, and Lily Gast of Granbury, Texas. "Neno" to her family, Glenda is survived by her brothers Thomas Stephenson and wife, Diane, of Cantonment, Florida, Robert Stephenson and wife, Summer, of Richardson, Texas, and her sister, Martha Ann Benasuly of Brunswick, Georgia. Survivors also include many nieces and nephews, with their many children, and other extended family members.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 28, at 11am in the Wiley Funeral Home Chapel in Granbury. In lieu of flowers and in keeping with Glenda's wishes, memorials may be made to Raffa Clinic of Greenville, Texas, Wounded Warrior, or a charity of your choice.
